Who is Dane Rauschenberg?
Dane Rauschenberg, a Penn State Alumnus and member of the Phi Alpha Delta fraternity, currently resides in Arlington, Virginia and is a member of the Washington Running Club. A relative novice to long-distance running, Dane began tackling marathons in law school to lose excess college weight and considers himself to be just "an average runner who happens to be extremely stubborn". His personal best for a marathon was run at the Marine Corps Marathon in the Washington D.C. area in late 2005 with a time of 3:07:25.
He decided to take on the solo task of running 52 marathons, coordinating Fiddy2 as an organization and a website, seeking sponsorship and donations for L'Arche Mobile, as well as promoting the good deeds that L'Arche Mobile (and all the L'Arche communities worldwide) does as his way to give back as much as he can to those who are less fortunate.
And if that isn't enough, Dane will continue to work at his present occupation all year and run every marathon in 2006 under 4 hours!
